A Beautiful Mess Challenge - April 29

Welcome, Peeps, to the second challenge for A Beautiful Mess.  Since we are just starting out (our first challenge was March 25), you may want to take a look at the site and enter a card.  It is always Anything Goes.  This month our sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy.  I chose to use Happy Lion.  It comes in a pre-colored and outline image.  I used the pre-colored image printed on photo paper.  The die cuts are from two Miss Kate Cuttables files - Cactus and Hard Day's Work (the rock).  The clouds are a die from Sweet 'N Sassy.  The card base is done with Recollections cardstock.  Once again, my Cameo wad very busy for this card, printing and cutting the image, the cactus and the rock.

The Outlawz Wednesday Challenge 4/27

I'm almost sorry to see this month end.  I have really been enjoying using the images by the sponsor for The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge. Art by Miran.  I just love her images.  This one is called "Anyone for Tea."

I turned the sketch one-quarter turn to the left to use this tall image.  The cardstock is from Recollections. Ribbon is from American Crafts.  I found the bling butterflies in the dollar (now $1.50) bins at Michaels a few years back.  The photo doesn't show it, but they are a very pale light blue.  The die cut is a Spellbinders Die.  The letters are from a sheet of letters I have had for several years.  I guess I should find a challenge that uses old materials from your stash and enter it.  The ribbon, bling and letters all are ancient as supplies go.  I printed and cut the image with my Cameo and colored the image with Copic markers.  Then I added Glossy accents to the bow and teapot.  I popped the image onto the purple layer using 3M Foam Tape.

Trust

I just finished another folded book.  I am really having fun making these even though they are very hard on my eyes.  I'm  hoping after the eye surgery, I will be able to see a lot better and be able to have more fun doing the craft things I so enjoy.

I used a lot of materials for this book.  The cross and leaf die cuts are Our Daily Bread and Spellbinders.  The flowers are Recollections and Wild Orchid.  The butterfly is a Frantic Stamper die. The words are Elizabeth Craft dies.  I used Walnut Stain distress ink to highlight the word.  The bling is Bling on a Roll from Walmart.  I also used Nuvo Crystal Drops on the butterfly body.  The ribbon is from a prize I won on The Outlawz.  The designer paper is from Heartfelt Creations.

Challenges:
Cradt dee Bowz  Use handmade bow
Whoopsi Daisy  Butterflies and Flowers

P.S. added 5/11/16  This won first place at Craft Dee Bowz

CHNPP Challenge May

The beginning of the month means it's time to check out CraftyHazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge for the May Challenge.  Can you believe it's the first of May already?  I sure can't.

I found this card shape in the Silhouette Store and decided that I really needed to try it.  It gave me a slight problem at first because they don't give you directions how to put it together.  Once I figured it out, it was a piece of cake.

Materials used:
Core'dinations cardstock
Basic Grey cardstock
Recollections flowers

CrasftyHazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - April

I fell in love with the quilt pattern designs when I first saw one last year.  I found some more at Gina Marie Designs last month.  I bought three more.  They are so much fun to do even though they take a little bit more time placing each of the pieces in the frame.  I discovered with this one that if I cut a square of 4x4 Sookwang tape and place the frame on it, it makes it much easier to put the small pieces in.  They stick nicely.  I cut the die four times and then mixed and matched the pieces for each square.

Materials used:
Gina Marie x4 Quilt Block, Flower Burst Stitched Panels
Adhesive backed cardstock that I've had forever and no longer know who makes it
GP110 cardstock
American Crafts cardstock
KaiserCraft 6.5x6.5 Hidden Treasures Paper Pack
Nuvo Crystal Drops
Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourish Right die
