James 5:8

The Scripture verse this week at Word Art Wednesday is from James 5:8.   I am not completely happy with the way this card turned out, but I am experimenting with making 5 inch square cards.  It is quite different to convert a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 to 5 x5.  It will take a few cards to get the hang of it, I'm sure.
I used white cardstock for the base and two pieces of scrap lavender/purple from my stash.  The flower is a combination of three flowers in my flower stash, maker(s) unknown anymore.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.  I used Seedless Preserves to sponge the edges of the sentiment panel.  I cut both the purple panel and the sentiment panel with my Silhouette Cameo.

Congrats on your new home

For this card, I merged two images - one from Riette "Bird Houses" and an older one "Love Birds" from DS4J.  You can find both images here in the store.

I used a 5 x 5 card base from Fundamentals.  It was already embossed.  I sponged Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress Ink over the embossing.  I used my Cameo to merge the two images, to print and cut the image and to make a offset of a different color.  I printed the sentiment out with WordPerfect and them scanned it into my computer to make it a .jpg image.  Once again, I used the Cameo to cut the sentiment and two different sized offsets.  I colored the bling from Want2Scrap with a Copic marker.  The cardstock was from Neenah, and Stampin' Up

Good morning peeps!  It's time for Challenge 99 at DigiStamps4Joy.  That means that the next one is the big 100.  Stay turned for some fun and goodies for 100.  Back to 99.  Asmah is hosting this challenge with the theme "Circles."    Just add any circular shape to your project.  For my project, I decided to add a circular image from DS4J.  It's called "Blessings 4" and can be found in the online store

I used Sketch 179 from My Favorite Things as my inspiration.

Materials used:
Recollections cardstock

Word Art Wednesday 1Samuel2:2

The Scripture verse from Word Art Wednesday for this week is 1Samuel2:2.  For this challenge, I have used OWH Sketch 233.

It was a little hard to photograph because the paper is metallic.  The black layers are Recollections and the bling is from Want2Scrap.

It's Fall

Where is this year going?  It is time to make fall cards already.

I used scraps from my scrap folder.  I used some Bo Bunny stickers and metallic leaves from Michaels.  The orange was way too bright for the patterned paper so I sponged it with Vintage Photo distress ink to tone it down.  I used MFT Sketch 190.

Back to School

In rummaging through my stamp drawer, I found a set of back to school stamps.  Unfortunately, it was not in its original package, so I have no idea who the maker is.

I used Bazzill Basics Paper School Days 6x6 pad. Recollections cardstock, Copic markers, and ribbon from my stash.

Welcome Baby

I surfed through Paper Playful this morning.  I found a CAS card with the theme "baby" on CAS On Sunday.  Whenever I get asked for what style my cards are, I am at a loss to explain.  I don't do CAS usually but they are not really ornate either.  I suppose there is a word for the style, but I just say "I am a little beyond CAS."  I usually do whatever I feel moved to do.   Sometimes it's ornate, sometimes very simple.  Well, with that said, this is the card I did for the CAS Baby theme.

I used Recollections pink cardstock for the base and a piece of white from my scraps for the white layer.  I embossed the white with an Anna Griffin folder.  The carriage is a DS4J digi stamp that I colored with Copics.  You can find the image in the DS4J store here.  The sentiment is computer generated.   I used an SU punch to cut the corners on the sentiment panel. I also used Copics to color the bling.

DS4J 98 - New

Ursula chose the theme "NEW" for this challenge at DigiStamps4Joy.  Why not hop on over to DS4J's challenge here and see some fantastic inspiration.  I used "Forest" as my background and merged "New House" into the grassy area.  You can find these digis and tons more in the online shop.  I colored it with Copics.  The card base is a 5x5 already embossed base by Fundamentals.  I chose this size because the theme is not one for OWH.    I sponged Mustard Seed Distress Ink over the raised areas.  The sentiment is computer generated.  Flowers are from Michael's dollar bin. Bling is from my stash.  Surprise, surprise, it was not clear to be colored by Copics.  It is actualy green.  I cut the banner with my new Sizzix Triplits dies.

Word Art Wednesday Psalm 147:4

I have not entered Word Art Wednesday challenges for some time.  It is time to get back to them.  I made this card for their current challenge Anything Goes, using Psalm 147:4.  I used a combination of stars.  The large star with the sentiment is from Silhouette.   I used the print and cut feature to cut it out and then sponged the edges with Distress Ink.  The two smaller silver stars are also from Silhouette.  After I cut them, I covered them with Watermark ink and used Stampendous Silver embossing powder on them and heat set them.  The bling stars are from the dollar bin at Michaels from a couple years ago.  The card base is Express It cardstock.  The grey cardstock is Bazzill and the black is Recollections.

OWH Sketch 236

I used Operation Write Home's Sketch 236 for this card.  Instead of a circle, I decided to use a layered snowflake from my Silhouette files.  This will also serve as my second card for Lady Annes 2014 Christmas Card club.

Materials Used:
Bazzill cardstock
Recollections cardstock
Recollections 6x6 Blue Christmas dp
Martha Stewart punch
Silhouette layered snowflake
Want2Scrap bling
Technique Tuesday sentiment

Sunday Release for DS4J -8/10

Happy Sunday to you.  It's time, once again, for the Sunday release over at DigiStamps4Joy.  After you leave a comment for me,  hop on over to the online store and check out all the new stamps available this week.  Margy, Riette and Jen have been busy at the drawing board again this week.

For my card, I chose to use Riette's Flower Circle.  I resized it in my Cameo and then drew a circle around it.  I added an offset circle in a different color to make it stand out.  The sentiment is a Silhouette file but the flowers are from Flower Circle.  I added some bling which I colored with Copic markers. I also colored the image with Copic markers.  The bow is one of newer favorite dies from Sue Wilson.  It's called Lattice 3D Bow.    The card base is pre-embossed and is from Fundamentals.  I sponged Shabby Shutters Distress Ink over the embossed parts.

First Christmas Card for August

Here is my first Christmas card for the month of August.  It is for the DigiStamps4Joy 2014 Christmas Challenge.  It's called Santa's Helper and can be found here

I used dp from my stash of 6x6 Christmas pads from Michaels and Bazzill cardstock for the layers.  For the image, I used both Wink of Stella glitter pens and Copic markers.  The fur is Ice White Pearl Pen.  The snowflakes are from Michaels.  For the design of the card, I used Operation Write Home Sketch #233.

Friday Freebie for August at DS4J

It's the first Friday of the month and time for the freebie at DS4J.  Margy was so kind to give the DT this image which was created by our very own Riette.

It's fittingly called "Flowerpots" and can be found in the DS4J online store here.  It's free until Sunday so hop on over and grab it while the price is right.  If you delay, it will cost you to buy it.

Here is what I came up with.

I used:
Bazzill cardstock
Graphic 45 Botanical Tea dp
Copic markers
Want2Scrap bling which I colored with Copics
Sentiment from Impression Obsession
