Stampin' On Tuesday

I was kind of bored today so I checked out Paper Playful to see if there was something I wanted to do.  I found the sketch on Try Stampin on Tuesday's site I liked this sketch so I put a card together.  I used Recollections yellow card base, bling from Want2Scrap. Stampin' Up Framelits Labels Collection die,  Technique Tuesday stamp, Copic markers, and Prima flower.

MFP Speedy TV Sketch with a Twist

Marks Finest Papers Monday Challenge is Speedy TV Sketch.  The Twist is to make it a thinking of you card.  I was working with patriotic papers over the weekend and they were still on my desk.  I decided to use them to make some cards for my OWH box.  I needed to make a bunch more thinking of you cards to fill up my box before I send it off.  The patterned paper is from some that I bought a few years back.  I thought I was ordering two sheets, when in fact, I ordered two packs of 25 papers each. I could paper my room with this many.  I have used it and used it.  It seems like it multiplies like the loaves and fishes.  It never seems to get used up.  The metallic stars are from Michaels, probably the same vintage as the paper.  I stamped the sentiment with a stamp from Michaels dollar bin.

The Sky's the Limit

Last night, I was looking at some of my digi stamps that I have been collecting for a long time.  I came across this adorable elephant from QKR Stampede, called Floating Away, along with the sentiment also from QKR.  It reminded me that I have a Hero Arts rubber stamp of the buildings.  My clouds file from Silhouette, some Copic markers and I was in business.  I added some Wink of Stella Silver glitter pen to the edge of the clouds to make them stand out more.  I pulled the elephant into the Silhouette mat and did a print and cut with a small offset.  I did the same thing for the sentiment.  I like the way it turned out, so I am going to make a bunch more for my OWH box.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

OWH Midweek Challenge

The challenge at OWH for this midweek throwdown is to make masculine and feminine birthday cards using the same design.

For the masculine card,  I used Recollections black cardstock, Basic Grey 6x6 Obscure, and a Stampin Up sentiment.  I punched three small circles from the black cardstock.

For the feminine card, I used Recollections pink cardstock, DCWV Girl 6x6 stack, Stampin Up sentiment and bling from Want2Scrap.

DS4J Challenge #92 - Anything Goes

It's the heart of Spring so I decided to use a nice Springy looking flower arrangement for my card for this challenge at DS4J.  It's name is Anemone Corsage.  You can find it and a lot of other digis at the store.  As usual, I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to print and cut the image.   I colored the image with Copic markers and popped it up with foam tape.  It was a little difficult to photograph this card because of the shiny paper I used for the die cut.  My friend gave me a pack of paper that had many different designs and was all shiny. It is so beautiful, that I have just hoarded it for a few years.  The time has come to start using it.  I used a new Spellbinders die called A2 Devine Eleoquence.  I added a little bow from Fynmark.  The bling is from Kaisercraft.

Thank You Card for OWH

I am trying to put a full box together for Operation Write Home.  So, I am trying to make a good variety of the types of cards our heroes need to send back home.  Today I concentrated on "thank you" cards.  I was inspired by a card by Kimberly Crawford that I saw online some time ago and saved to CASE.  I made four of these.  My Cameo got quite a workout cutting the leaves and the flowers.

Materials used:
Black cardstock - Recollections
White cardstock - Neenah Solar White
Background Stamp - Hero Arts
Background Ink - Memento London Fog
Sentiment stamp - unknown
Sentiment Ink - Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler
DP - Stampin' Up
Dark pink cardstock - Stampin' Up
light pink - Recollections
Brad - unknown

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Miss You

My card for the OWH Midweek Throwdown with the theme "Miss You."  I used embossed Bazzill for the card base and pink panel.  The flower and leaf were cut with the Cameo.  The sentiment from  Hero Arts is stamped on a die cut from Stampin' Up. Pearl bling is from Want2Scrap.

New Technique

This is a new technique I learned today from Mark's Finest Papers.  It was fun and I like the finished produce.  First emboss a panel with a rather simple folder.  I used the polka dots.  Lightly rub chalk ink or distress ink over the raised dots.  Then, using another folder, emboss again.   If necessary, use more ink on the dots.  That's all there is to it.   I used one of Mark's Finest stamps from the Winter Crocus set for my image and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The card base is Core'dinations canvas texture, the black layers are Recollections and the white was from my scraps.  A little yellow ribbon and the card is complete.

Sketch With A Twist (SWAT) challenge #98

Another challenge on Mark's Finest Paper.  This sketch is for the Tuesday SWAT (Sketch With a Twist).  The twist is make it masculine.

Materials used:
DCWV cardstock
WRMK twine
Mark's Finest Papers North American Woods Stamp Set

MFPSpeedy TV Challenge 124

It's been a long time since I entered one of the Mark's Finest Paper challenges.  I got an e-mail today that had all of the challenges in it.  I decided it was time to dig in again and started with the Monday of this week challenge.  It was Kraft and red.  I had this red die cut on my desk, just waiting to be used.  I also had just enough of the white ribbon left to make the bow.  I added Pearl Pen Ice White and a sentiment from my stash of stamped sentiments.

Entered in MFPS TV Challenge 124  Kraft and Red

I have been going for simplicity in my cards lately.  I am trying to fill a box for OWH with these cards.  OWH does not like bulky cards as they are too hard to pack and then for the military to mail back home.  I have been having fun using this technique.

Here is my latest KISS card.

I made it using  only a half sheet of blue cardstock for the base and scraps from my scrap pile for the rest.  The butterfly is left over from a decoupage set I used awhile back.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges: K is for Keep It Simple Patterned paper Things with Wings

Materials I used:
Water paper by Sugartree
Cardstock by Recollections
Sentiment by Hero Arts
Colored with Copics

Black and White

I was going to use this for a black and white challenge, but after I had it done and photographed, I realized I needed to use a digi on it.  I can still use it for family or friends.  It is made completely with the Our Daily Bread Design April release.  I was inspired by a similar design at their website.  The flowers are from Petaloo and the brad is from my stash.

I purchased the complete April release from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I also saved some of the cards their DT made.  For this card using that release, I decided to do a total CASE of a card that I saw  The original card was made by Lisa Somerville.  I thought it would make a perfect sympathy card.

DS4J Christmas Card Challenge for May

For my card, I merged the Monthly image with one I have had for awhile.  DS4J provides the image for the month.  Each time you enter, you automatically get the image for the next month. If  you want to play along, it's not too late.  All you have to do is e-mail Desire at This month's image is called "Time to Go."  There are two other images in this series.  You can find all of them here in the store

I merged it with this stamp.
And this was the end result.
I colored it with Copics.  I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with a Stampin' Up die.  The star is cut with DCWV metallic paper.  I popped the star with foam tape.

These are the other two Stamps:  King 2 - Best Foot Forward:

and King 3 - We're Late
I'm also entering this in Lady Anne's Christmas challenge here.

DS4J Sunday Release, May 4

Sunday and time for a new release at Digistamps4Joy online store.  Check out the DigiStamps4Joy blog to see some of the fantastic cards made by the design team for this release.

I used dp from Huckleberry Pond 6x6 Patterns for the bottom layer.  The card base is from Recollections.  Ribbon and lace are Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I colored the bling from Want2Scrap with Copic marker BG05.  The image is colored with Copics and cut with a Spellbinders Big Scalloped Ovals LG die set.  The die cut with the sentiment is by Stampin' Up.  The sentiment is from Mulberry Wood Smile Stamp Set.

I used Xpress It Blending Card for the digi image.  It is the first time I have used it and  am not impressed, at least not favorably.  I didn't feel the Copics blended in as well as some of the other paper I have used.

Love You for OWH

I saw this technique on Pam Tetreault's blog.  First stamp the sentiment.  Using three different size stamps, stamp the largest one first.  Without adding any more ink, stamp two more times.  This gives the fading image.  Then stamp the mid-size one, then the smallest one.   I made 4 of them in about 15 minutes.  Very definitely a CAS card.

Freebie Friday with Serenity

It's the first Friday of the month. That means it is time for a freebie over at DigiStamps4Joy.  I chose to use the Serenity digi by Jen Leeflang.  Hop on over to the store and grab up this image.  But hurry, it will only be available free till Sunday.  After that  you will have to pay for it.

I used Spellbinders Tile Works die.  The base is Recollections.  The pink and silver cardstock came from DCWV 6x6 Metallic pad.   It is actually shinier than it looks in the photo.  The ribbon and brad are from my unknown stash.  Of course, I colored the image with Copics.

OWH Midweek Throwdown

Operation Write Home is in need of Thinking of You cards.  This is one of the 43 cards I made from the one 6x6 paper pack.  I have not entered it anywhere so I thought I would add it to the site for this week.  I think I need to fix up the sentiment before including it in my OWH box.  It looks a little anemic in spots.
