DS4J Anything Goes

Hi Peeps.  DigiStamps4Joy is having an Anything Goes challenge this week.  That means you can do whatever theme you want, use any medium, and even do something crafty other than a card.  Let's see what you have.  If you use a DS4J image, you get extra chances to be a winner.  What?  You don't have a DS4J image?  Well, you can remedy that by checking here and pick one up.  You will find a lot of really great images there.

For my card, I tried a white on white card base.  I embossed the second layer with one of my new folders by Sizzix.  I used the negative from a die cut that I cut for another card for the image background.  Nothing wasted here.  I used Misteri - All Dressed Up and colored her with Copics.    I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to cut the image out.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid.  The sentiment shape is cut with a Stampin Up die and stamped with a Hero Arts stamp.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge August 28

The sketch challenge over at The Outlawz for this week was a lot of fun to do.  Since it has a pocket, it could even be used as a gift card holder.  I looked at the sketch and thought about it for a few minutes and then it was just one of those that came together.  The card base is from some old Hero Arts cardstock that I've had for ages.  I cut the tags freehand, well at least the tops of them were freehand.

Other materials I used:
Recollections flowers
Wild Orchid Flowers
Cameo to cut yellow flower
Martha Stewart butterfly punch
WRMK twine
Want2Scrap bling
Paper scraps

Tuesday Throwdown 162 School Spirit

The theme at Tuesday Throwdown this week is School Spirit.  We have been requested to use our school colors.  Well, it's been a loooooong time since I was in school and having attended three schools that all had colors, I had to choose one.  I chose to use my college colors.  Can you guess what they were?   Right, red and white.  I used the cheerleader from Meljens Designs, our sponsor for this challenge.

I cut the image using the print and cut feature on my Cameo.  The saying is also from a Cameo file.  I colored the image with Copics, as usual.  The ribbon and flowers came from my stash.

School is Cool

Once again, it's time for the weekly challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner.  This week it's an easy one.  The theme is Anything Goes.  Yep, you can do whatever you want.  Our super sponsors for this challenge are Meljens Designs. and Bugaboo Stamps.  I chose to use Penpal Mouse from Meljens to commemorate the beginning of school.  Although school where I live started in mid-August, there are some schools that still have the traditional starting date of around Labor Day.

I used Copic markers to color this cute little critter.  He seems to be a little behind times because he is still using a pencil and not a tablet.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The card base uses some Hero Arts cardstock from a couple years ago.  The orange cardstock is from Stampin Up.  The school bus paper is Recollections.  Buttons are from American Crafts and the twine is We Are Memory Keepers.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge August 21

Hi there Peeps.  Are you up for a sketch challenge?  It is a pretty easy one over at The Outlawz this week.  Why not give your  hand a try at it?  Our sponsor for this month is Bugaboo Stamps.  I used this one called Valentine Ewe even though it is no where near Valentine's Day.  He very sweetly says "I Love Ewe" which is nice to hear any time.

Let It Snow

Since the Design Team has filled up, I have landed on Team A at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  That means I will only be posting every other week unless I have the time to post more.   I will surely try to post more.  This week's sketch is by Michelle.  At first, I thought "oh good, I have hexagon dies."  Then I decided to look a little further instead of copying exactly what the sketch shows.  I had my Christmas papers out for another challenge and figured  "why not?".  Snowflakes replaced the hexagons on the sketch and I added a ribbon in the corner.  The snowflakes are from a file on Silhouette.  I added some Crystal Stickles to make them look more realistic.  Pearl Pen forms the dot on the "i" and under the exclamation mark.

Wishing You a Bountiful Harvest

Good morning Peeps.  It's time for another challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner.  We are working on Challenge #76, with the theme of use an image containing food.  With the holiday season gradually creeping up on us, I decided to use a Thanksgiving theme.  Our sponsor for this challenge is  Eureka Stamps .  I used Harvest Bounty with Harp.  I colored the image with Copics, used a scrap of fall-ish paper from my stash and a piece of ribbon from American Crafts.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.  I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to print and cut the image.  Then I used the Offset feature to cut the background for the image on a different color paper.

I entered this card in Challenges for Everybody.

The Outlawz August 14

My card for this challenge at The Outlawz sketch challenge used a digi from our sponsor for this month, Bugaboo Stamps.

The printed cardstock is from Bo Bunny Camp-a-lot collection.  The tan cardstock was a piece in my scrap bin as were the green pieces in the arrows.  I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to cut the image and colored it with Copics.  The sentiment tag is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is an unknown stamp.  I cut the arrows with the Cameo also.  The bling is from Want2Sscrap and I colored the clear rhinestones with a green marker to match the background paper.

DS4J Wishing you a Wonderful Day - Midway Challenge

Hey, it's time to hop on over to DigiStamps4Joy for the midway challenge at DS4J.  While you are looking at the great inspiration by the DT members, check out the store and pick up any of the digis you may have missed.  We are halfway through with Challenge 73 - Make Your Own Embellishments and sponsored by DT Ursula.   For my card, I chose the image called "Music Sheet."  The handmade embellishment was crocheted by my good friend Rozy.  I wish I could crochet.  I used the Circles and Diamonds file from Silhouette for my background.  I colored the image with Copics, added a little Tim Holtz Distess Ink to soften the picture and cut it with a Spellbinders die.  I handcut the banner.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Dance Like No One is Watching

Hey Peeps.   Glad you could drop by today.  It's time for another challenge by Team A over at Tuesday Throwdown.  Our sponsor for this challenge is There She Goes Stamps and the theme is Pastel Rainbow.  You can use any or all of the colors of the rainbow but use the pastel version.

I used this cute little ballerina stamp called "Amalia Ballerina" for my card.  The saying is part of the stamp set.  There is another saying also included in the set.  I used Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five to cut the opening in the front of the card.  I also cut the dp with it and adhered it to the front of the card.  The image is stamped on a separate piece of cardstock and adhered behind the opening.  I colored the image with Copics.  The pastel rainbow ribbon is from my stash.  It's one of those things I have had for ages and rediscovered recently during an organization process.

Boo

Even though I am now on Team A at Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge, I decided to make this card for Team B's week.  I liked the sketch and had an idea of what I wanted to do with it before the teams got divided up.  It is getting closer to Halloween.  I know, it's a couple months away yet, but I have to have my box with Halloween cards mailed to OWH before August 31.  I had saved this printed digi paper that I found online at Sherry K and wanted to try using a digi paper.  It worked great.  The image is from Dearie Dolls and was a freebie also.  It was pre-colored so all I had to do was use my Cameo to print and cut it.    I made the "boo" with the Cameo too.  This was an easy and fun card since I was trying something new.  The card base is Stampin Up.  The orange and white saying is made with scraps.

Thinking of You

Morning Peeps.  It's time for another challenge over at Tammy's Scrappin Corner.  Hop on over there to see some great inspiration from the design team.  Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is SKdigis.  Check out their stamps.

I chose this cute little sailboat for the theme "Sports."  The card shape is from Silhouette.  I liked the banner cut for the front of the card.  I cut the image with Spellbinders Postage Stamps die.  The image is colored with Copics.  The button is from Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from a set of vertical sentiments I picked up last summer from Impression Obsession.

DS4J New Releases for August 11

I don't know about anybody else, but I have been having a terrible time getting into my blog this week.  I have to jump through a whole bunch of  hoops before I can sign in.  It's frustrating.  Well, I finally got in and am able to post my card for this week's DigiStamps4Joy release.  This is just one of the fabulous images in the store.   It is called Misteri - Bond Girl.

I colored her with Copics.  The embossed piece was cut with Spellbinders A2 Distressed Edges die and them embossed.  I cut the image with Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles.  The flowers are KaiserCraft.

A Side Trip

Hi everybody.  I took a little side trip this week and decided to try my hand at something a little different.  I found this frame at Walmart (with the help of an enabling friend).  It was only $11.95 so I decided to get it.  I had already located the freebie chalkboard sayings online and with my friends encouragement, decided to print them out and put them in the frame.  I found the package of butterflies at the local scrap store.  I also printed out four pictures that I have taken over the years.  It is now hanging on the wall just outside my bedroom door so I see it every morning when I wake up.

Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge for

Morning Peeps.  I was surfing challenges and came across this one from Our Daily Bread Designs I loved the design and decided to give it a try.  It's been a long time since I entered one of their challenges.  Somehow, a Christmas card popped into my head.  So that's what I decided on.  I have tons of Christmas paper.  I also have a lot of ODBD stamps.  It didn't take long for this one to come together.

The sketch:

You're the Best

My card for The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for this week was a little out of my comfort zone.  I don't usually make square cards, but I thought I would give it a try.  Since our sponsor for August is Bugaboo Stamps, I used this cute little bee from Bugaboo.  I wanted to make it a masculine card too.  It is 5" x 5".

The background paper is from Basic Grey Recess and the rust and green pieces are scraps from my stash.  Buttons are from American Crafts with some WRMK twine.  Once again, I used the print and cut feature of the Cameo to cut the image.  Then I colored the bee with Copics and added Glossy Accents to the feet, hands and antennae.  I also added Glossy Accents to the center of the flower.  The sentiment banner was cut with a Stampin' Up die set with a little distress ink added.  The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts.

American Heart Sketch Challenge #15

I can hardly believe that I am doing challenge 15 for Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge already.  It seems like I just started as DT on this site last week.  The submissions are growing by the week, but there is still a long way to go.  So, if you are reading this before you look at the site, head on over there and join us.

The sketch is easy:

My card:

I  had originally thought I would just do a sentiment as the focal image.  As I was looking for paper for the background, I found this with the shoe pattern.  Then I remembered I had an image from DS4J by Jen Lee that was a square with the four shoes.  I printed and cut it out on my Cameo and colored the image with Spica pens.  The pens give the image a little bit of a shine.  The sketch shows stitching around the image, but I decided to put it around the background.  It is real stitching.  I still have a ways to go to perfect it, but the only way that is going to happen is to do it more often.

You Make Me Smile

Hum your favorite song and waltz on over to Tammy's Scrapin Corner for this week's challenge to use a music theme.  My little turtle is revving up for a real  hoedown.  The sponsor this week at TSC is QKR Stampede and there are lots of little musical critters there.

Materials I used:
Cameo Silhouette to cut the image and musical notes
Copic markers

Neenah Classic Crest cardstock, solar white
scrap of goldish color cardstock from stash
unknown sentiment

DS4J Sunday Release August 4

Hey peeps, it's and time for the new Releases over at DS4J.  Hop on over to the store and see what cute new digis Margy has made available.  For my card, I used Jen Lee's Mini Misteri with Apple Basket.  If you are making Christmas cards, there is an adorable image with hedgehogs under the mistletoe.  Check it out.  I made a very simple card without a lot of embellishment.  I wanted the image to speak for itself.  The background paper is from a 6x6 paper pad by Kaiser Craft called Utopia.  The pattern has some glossy images on it.  The die cut is from Resplendent Rectangles by Spellbinders.  The pearls are from Want2Scrap.  Ribbon is from my stash.  I colored the image with Copics.
