The Outlawz Sketch Challenge 11/27/13

Hi, Peeps.  It's that time again.  The new sketch is up and running at The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  Our sponsor for the month of November is The Paper Shelter.  I love their images because they come with a background paper, both pre-colored and  uncolored images.  For my image this month, I chose to use Magic Bubble Bath.  I used both the pre-colored image and the background.  I reshaped the background to fit a 5.5 x 4.25 size card.  I love using digi images because you can make them whatever size you want.   The ribbon is from my stash.  The butterflies and flowers are from the dollar bin at Michaels.  I printed and cut the image with my Cameo.  I popped it with foam tape.  I also used the Cameo to cut the scalloped circles.

AHSC #31

When I first saw the sketch for this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, my first thought was that it  lends itself to a Christmas card.  Since Christmas is only a month away, I went with my first thought.  I also decided to use non-traditional colors.  The cardstock is from Stampin Up; the dp is Recollections.  I had made a bunch of bows when I first got my Bow it All so I used one here.  The greenery is punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment is stamped with Craft Smart ink.

DS4J Sunday Release for Noveomber 24

Great new digis in the store today at DS4J.  This is only one of them.  After you leave me some love here, go on over and take a look.  This stamp is by Jen Lee and is called Agent Alexia.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the pink layer. then wove American Crafts grosgrain ribbon through the slits.  The pearls are from Want2Scrap.  Flowers are from Michaels.  I colored the image with Copics.

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Masculine Birthday

Since I have most of my scraproom packed up waiting for my new desk/work table to be installed and I have all my DT cards made through December in anticipation of my knee surgery, I thought I would dedicate whatever scrapping time I have to do cards for OWH.  I hope to be able to put a box together after my recovery.

I don't make a lot of masculine cards so this was a real challenge for me.  I thought I would practice on a sketch for an upcoming challenge TBA later.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for November 20

Morning Peeps.  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for The Outlawz Sketch Challenge. If you've been following along this month, you already know that our sponsor for this month is The Paper Shelter.  For this challenge, I used both the Japanese Cute Doll background that came with the image and the pre-colored Japanese Cute Doll image.  I raided my sewing basket for the rick rack.  I used Spellbinders dies to cut the image and its shadow.  The brads came from my stash.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.  I also turned the sketch quarter turn.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #174

Time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  This week our sponsor, My Grafico, provided the design team with the most adorable penguins, along with the large snowflake.  I colored this adorable penguin with Copic markers, added some Ice White Pearl Pen to the pompoms on his hat and Glossy Accents to his beak and feet.  The sentiment is computer generated, cut with a Spellbinder die and distressed with Peacock Feathers distress ink.

Outlawz Sketch 11-13

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge is up and running again.   I am loving the sponsor for this month.  If you have never had any dealings with The Paper Shelter, I'd suggest you hop over and look at their stamps.  They are well worth the $3.00 most of them cost.  You get a lot of bang for your buck.  Once again I used the pre-colored "The Turkey is Done" image and the rest of the scrap piece of Christmas paper from my scrap stash.  I printed the image and then used a Spellbinders die to cut it out and distressed with a bit of distress ink.  I made the bows with ribbons from my stash and added the piece of holly chipboard.

AHSC Challenge #29

Morning Peeps.  It's time for another sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. For this card, I decided to do a white on white.  Somewhere along the way, the pink sneaked in there.  For the top part of the card, I adhered a piece of two-sided Sookwang tape to a piece of cardstock and burnished white Glitter Ritz into it.  I used an embossing folder on the bottom piece and adhered this panel to a card base.  I made the bow with the Bow It All.  The flowers and bling are from my stash.  I added the sentiment from Impression Obsession.

DS4J Sunday Release November 10

It's Sunday and that means it's time to showcase the new digis that are available in the DS4J store.  Hop on over there and see what cuties Margy has in store for you this week.  Then hop on over to the DS4J blog for some inspiration from the fabulous design team.

I'm using Misteri and her BFF for my card this week.  One look at my winter collection of AC Cardstock and I knew my colors would be lilac and blue.  I colored the image with Copics and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  Oh my, I didn't use my Cameo on this one.  Well, that's partly because my scraproom is torn up because I am remodeling it.  Everything is in boxes and of course, I can't find anything.  The snowflakes were from a pack that I bought at Michaels a couple years ago.  I used Liquid Pearls for the dots.  The fur on Misteri's boots and her BFF's jacket are Ice White Pearl Pen.  The Pompons are done with Silver Glitter Pen.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for Nov. 6

The sketch challenge is up and running at The Outlawz.   Our sponsor for this month is The Paper Shelter.  I used the image "The Turkey is Ready" and made a Christmas card.  I used a piece of scrap paper to make the background and ribbon from my stash.  The chipboard holly leaves and berries have also been in my stash for awhile.  I cut the image using a Spellbinders die and then sponged a little Lipstick Red distress ink around the edges.  The greens are cut from scraps with a Martha Stewart punch.

DS4J Challenge 79

Hop on over to DS4J blog today for the current challenge.  Today's challenge is hosted by DT Charlene.  You can use any theme you want, just make sure you have 3 dp and at least 3 layers.  For my card, I used way more than 3 layers as each dp has a solid color layer behind it.  My digi is
Mila Dance Recital by Jen Lee and and can be found at the DS4J online shop.  I used something new that I have never done before on this card too.  I made a three-loop bow.  I have always wanted to do this and was never able until I purchased the Zutter Bow It All a couple weeks ago.  You will see lots more neat bows on my cards now.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #172

Need some tags for those Christmas gifts you have to wrap?  Then head on over to Tuesday Throwdown for some fantastic inspiration.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish.  Check out her great digis here.  For my card, I used Charlie Christmas Bear.  He was fun to color with Copics after I printed and cut him with the Cameo.  I used a piece of double sided cardstock from my Christmas stash of 6x6 sheets to make the tag.  Again, I cut it with the Cameo. I distressed the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.  I cut the shape behind the bear with Spellbinders.  The ribbon and snowflake are from my stash.  I used Sparkly Fluff for the fur on his hat and the pom-pom.  However, after it dried, it turned a weird shade of yellowish-pink.  The picture was taken before it dried and it looks real cute.  I covered it over with Ice White Pearl Pen afterwards to cover up the weird color it turned.
