The Outlawz 5-29

Good morning Peeps.  Today's challenge at The Outlawz Sketch Challenge lends itself to a square format quite nicely.  Our sponsor for this month is Guylou.  This is one of her beautiful images.  The borders are from Martha Stewart.  I used Spellbinders for the shapes in the center and my Cameo to print and cut the image which I colored with Copics.  Ribbon and flower are from my stash.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #5

Today's challenge over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge was an easy one for me.  I used an image, Melissa by JenLee, from DigiStamps4Joy for my focal spot.  The  sentiment stamp is from my favorite Hero Arts set.  This card will end up in my box for Operation Write Home.  I used both sides of a piece of dp from my scrap bin.   It's been there so long that I don't remember the maker.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added some flowers from my stash and pearls from Want2Scrap.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #64 Vintage

Morning Peeps.  I hope you are having a wonderful holiday, at least you here in the U.S.  Tammy's Scrapin Corner has a vintage challenge this week.  It is not hard to do a vintage card.  I took some KaiserCraft dp and made it look vintage by just using distress ink on the edges.  I used Copics to color the rose from A Day for Daisies to match the dp.

AHSC Sketch Challenge #4

My mojo disappeared while I was sick with the bronchitis these past two weeks.  In order to jump start it, it was suggested that I try a sketch.  I found this on one of my boards that I follow and decided to give it a try.

I used some old Stampin Up Natural  Composition paper that already had the embossed flowers on it.  I sponged it with Broken China Distress Ink and wiped the excess off the embossing and mounted it on a piece of black cardstock from Recollections.  The twine is from WRMK.  I stamped the same flower image that was in the embossed paper with this stamp from LaBlanche.  The sentiment stamp is from one of my go-to favorite sets from Hero Arts.

DS4J Challenge 67 - Spring Has Sprung

Morning Peeps.  Welcome to my DT card for the DS4J Challenge 67 - Spring Has Sprung.   The theme is "Spring" and the word "spring" must appear somewhere on the card.  I have been having so much fun with my Cameo that I seem to be using it for most of my cards lately.  I cut the background for this card using the Circles and Diamonds Lattice cut and two different colors cardstock.  I printed and cut the Hydrangea image by JenLee, offsetting the image with a different color.  I colored the image with Copics.  The butterfly is cut with a Martha Stewart punch.  I used Spellbinders A2 Distressed Edges dies to cut the sentiment and used Stampin' Up sentiment.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.  I popped the image to make it stand out even more.

The Outlawz 5-22

Morning Peeps.   It's time for another sketch challenge from The Outlawz.  I had a lot of fun with this one.  I recently got a Silhouette Cameo and hadn't done much with it.  So, I spent a whole day  playing with it to learn new things.  I learned to print and cut a digi image and give it a little white outline.  I found some new flourishes also.  For this card, I used a Pink Cat Studio pre-colored digi.  I figured I had enough to do with learning to print and cut an image so I chose one that someone else already colored for me.  Lazy?  No, just trying to save a little time.  I also resized and cut the flourish.  I added a little bling from Want2Scrap (where would I be without them?).  The sentiment is from Kaisercraft and cut from Spellbinders A2 Distressed Edges.

Tuesday Throwdown #148 - Sail Away

Morning Peeps.  I am slowly beginning to feel like I can rejoin the land of the living.  The bronchitis is finally responding to the medications.  This week's challenge at Tuesday Throwdown is Sail Away.  My Grafico is sponsoring this challenge.  I used this cute boat and banner from the Sail Away With Us for my card.  I cut the waves with my Cameo and added some Stickles to the waves.  As usual, the image is colored with Copics.

Tammys Scrapin Corner #63

Hi, Peeps.  I'm back from my cruise, but have been sick ever since.  My asthma started acting up and went into bronchitis.  I have been coughing like a crazy fool for a little over a week.

The theme for today's card challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner is Pink and Girly with Sparkle.  Our sponsors for this week are Eureka Stamps and Delicious Doodles.  I chose to use Small Opened Packages from Eureka Stamps for my card.  I used my Cameo to cut and print the image and the backgrounds for it.  I colored it with Copics and added Stickles and Glossy Accents to the package and ribbon.  The doily is from Wilton.  I found some Prima flowers in my stash that had some glitter on them for some extra sparkle.  The greenery is cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

The Outlawz 5-15

Morning Peeps!  Welcome to my page.  I hope you are enjoying my creations.  This morning is a new sketch from The Outlawz sketch challenge.  I am really having fun with this DT assignment as I love sketches.  This morning's challenge is an easy one.  I love butterflies and Monarchs are among my favorites.  I had this image printed out from Bubaboo so I just added a little color to the butterflies, making them monarchs.  I chose a piece of cardstock from my stash to match the color of the monarchs and punched 3 Martha Stewart butterflies.  I added pearls from Want2Scrap to the butterfly bodies and rhinestones between the two pieces of ribbon.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #62

Morning, Peeps.  So happy you could join me today for this challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner.  Our theme today is Ribbon and Lace.  Your card should have both on it.  Our sponsors for this challenge are SK Digis and A Day for Daisies.  I chose to use Wild Flowers in My Hair by A Day for Daisies.  You can find it here.  This will be a birthday card for a very special bff.

I put my Cameo to use on this card.  The background is called "Background Lace".   The sentiment is cut with the Cameo and is the June swirl with offset.  I used the print and cut feature for the image.  Then I colored the image with Copic markers.  The ribbon and lace were in my stash from a long time ago.

DS4J Challenge #66

Morning Peeps.  Today I am in Astoria, Oregon.  I am on a cruise, but I got this card done before I left.  The challenge at DigiStamps4Joy today is "Women are Special."    A good one since Mother's Day is next Sunday.  If you live in an area where Mother's Day has already been celebrated, you can just make a card to celebrate a woman who is very special to you.  I chose to use the digi stamp "Emma" in honor of my grandmother whose name was Emma.  You can find the digi stamp here.

I colored the image with Copic Markers.  The green Ciao is #YG63 Pea Green and the earth tone one is E51 Milky White.
The background is handmade using 1/4" strips of left over cardstock and put on a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of cardstock in two directions.  I will to a tutorial on this technique at a later date so stay tuned.
Other Supplies used:
Ribbon from Michaels
Recollections Flowers
Wilton Doily
Sizzix Thinlits Fancy Labels and Flowers die
Sentiment die from Studio G

The Outlawz Sketch 5-8

The sketch for this challenge for The Outlawz is a round card.  It was fun to make since I haven't done many round cards.

I had fun cutting with my Cameo for this card.  I cut the circles each one 1/4 inch smaller that the first until I had 4 circles.  Then I cut the smallest one in half.  I also cut the flowers, the flourish and the butterfly on the Cameo.  The butterfly didn't have antennae so I drew them in.  I'm really lovin' that machine.  I have a lot of images already printed up so I had to fussy cut the image.  I need to learn to do the print and cut feature so I can cut the image with the Cameo.  Of course, I used my Copics to color the image from Milk Coffee Images.  The sentiment stamp is from KaiserCraft.  The brads in the flower centers are from my stash and I have no idea who makes them.

Tuesday Throwdown #146

Good morning, Peeps.  As you look at this blog this morning, I am in San Francisco.  Good thing I got it done early.  The challenge at Tuesday Throwdown for this week is "My Mother, My Friend."  Our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish. I chose the stamp called, "Flowers for Mom."  You can find it here.

Since all of my crafting friends now have the Cameo, I decided it was time to pull mine out and finally use it.  I cut the border with it.  Baby steps, but eventually I'll be able to do more intricate designs.  The large die cut is with a Spellbinder die.  I colored the image with Copic markers and shaded the background of the image die cut with distress inks.  The flowers are from Michaels.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner 5-6

Morning Peeps.  It's hard to believe that it is already the month of May.  Where has the year gone?  Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday.  Have you made your card yet for your Mom?  If not, hop on over to Tammy's Scrapin Corner for some inspiration.  The theme this week is Mother's Day.  I used this cute kitty digi from Digi Stamp Characters.  You can find it here.

I have been having the time of my life playing with my Silhouette Cameo.  It took some learning to use the print and cut feature, but I think I have finally mastered it.  I used the Cameo for this image.  I first printed it with an offset border.  Then I offset the border and printed the pink shadow.  It was so much fun.  No more fussy cutting the image.  Well, I have some printed out that I will need to fussy cut, but going forward, I will use the Cameo to cut the image.

I used some Core'dinations and Bazzill cardstock.  The image was colored with Copics.  I tried to make the kitty Siamese, but I think I need a little more work on that.  Bling is from my stash.  The sentiment stamp is from Studio G.

Thank You Card

I was asked to make a thank you card for the outgoing president of a women's group I belong to.  Since her favorite colors are yellow and purple, I chose to do a yellow flower with a purple background.  The card base is 5x7.  I embossed the purple layer and the white layer using embossing folders from my stash.  I used my Cameo to cut the flower using the 3d Flower from the store and the leaves with the Plant 2 files.  I used a sentiment stamp from Michaels dollar bin.

I am entering this in the very first challenge at Silhouette Challenges.  The theme is anything goes.

The Outlawz Sketch 5/1

This is my first DT design for The Outlawz Sketch challenge.  I thought I would use up some of the cat dp papers I have had for ages.  I got them when I was doing a scrapbook for my cats.  I still have a whole 12x12 plastic bin full of cat related papers and embellishments.  I found this adorable image on Meljens Designs and thought it would make a great Mother's Day card.    I will give it to my granddaughter for her to give her mother for Mother's Day.

DP from my stash
Recollections cardstock
Meljens Designs image
Spellbinders Grand Large Labels
Spellbinders A2 Curved Matting Basics A
