The Outlawz 4/30 Color Challenge

Well, today is my last day on the color challenge team at The Outlawz.  Tomorrow you will find me on the Sketch team.  I've had a lot of fun doing the color challenge and am really looking forward to the sketch team.

The challenge for today is to use strawberry pink, lime green and lemon  yellow, with buttons as the twist.  I decided to do another Z-fold card.  Once again, I used the image "What a Sweetheart" from Little Darling Rubber Stamps.

Other materials I used are: Core'dinations cardstock, Recollections cardstock, Echo Park Victoria Gardens 6x6 paper pad, Spellbinders Labels Eight, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, American Crafts buttons, ribbon from Michael's, Die-namics flourish die and a Recollections flower.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #60

Morning Peeps.  I'm so happy you could join me here today.  I'm busy getting ready for a cruise up to west coast of the U.S. from Los Angeles to Vancouver, B.C.  In between getting my suitcases packed and shopping for new clothes, I still find time to do my stamping and card making.  Today's challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner is Anything Goes with Lots of Layers.  Our sponsors for today are Bugaboo Stamps and Skdigis.   I chose this image called "Happy Birthday to Ewe" from Bugaboo.

Materials used:
Spellbinders A2 Distressed Edges dies
Core-dinations cardstock
Recollections cardstock

Sunday Release for DS4J

Wow, it seems like Sunday comes around pretty fast each week, along with the new releases at the DigiStamps4Joy store.  Check it out for this week's cute digi stamps.  Hop on over the the DS4J blog and see some fantastic inspiration.  She is called "Misteri with Apple Basket."  I had just a small piece of the dp with the apples on it and had to cut my other papers to it.  I used the green for the image and the flourish because the green apple on the paper showed prominently. I cut the flourish with my Cameo.  The Cameo flourish had small dots next to the swirls, but I decided to use Liquid Pearls instead of pasting a zillion dots on the card.  The ribbon is from Michaels.

One More for Today

One more OWH card for today and I'm through.  I made several of these using scraps.  I stamped the background, the flower and the sentiment with Distress Ink.  I colored the pearls with Copics to match the blue ink.  The flower is from LaBlanche and the sentiment and background from Hero Arts.

Another Card for OWH

I made 4 of these with some scraps of print dp, scrap black cardstock and bling from my stash.  I cut the flourishes with my Cameo.

OWH Midweek Throwdown

I had a little extra time so I decided to join OWH this week and do the midweek throwdown.  The theme is It's About Time.  I had this Bo Bunny printed paper and the Hero Arts stamps featuring clocks and time sayings.  What better materials to use!  I used a sketch number 432 from SCS and featured by Airbournewife's post of a few days ago.

My card is A2 size as it will be going to OWH.  I had enough of the Bo Bunny paper to make 5 cards using this sketch.  I used a new to me La Blanche stamp that I got for half price at the LSS a couple weeks ago.  I used Mememto Toffee Crunch ink for the stamping.

DS4J Challenge #65

Morning Peeps.  Today's challenge at DigiStamps4Joy is Bling on a Shape.  I decided to use my current favorite shape card for this challenge - the pyramid fold.  It is so easy to do and I love the way it looks when it is done.  I used a DS4J stamp that I have had for awhile and have used several times on my cards.  It is called Hibiscus. You can find it here at the online shop.  I deliberately did not put a sentiment on it because I want to save it for someone special for her special occasion, yet to be determined.

Materials Used:
American Crafts cardstock
DCWV Garden Party Matstack
Spellbinders Oval and Opulent Ovals dies
Recollections bling

Tuesday Throwdown #144

Good morning, Peeps.  Welcome to the new Tuesday Throwdown challenge #144.  Today's challenge is to make your own background and use twine.  Our sponsor for this challenge is The Twinery.  If you have never checked out their twine, there is no better time than the present.  They have some really great deals on twine.  I labored over this challenge for a long time.  I came up with several ideas as to how to make my own background.  After about four or five different tries, I finally settled on the one I used.  I found this shaving cream technique on Splitcoast Stampers.  I tried it and I liked it.  It was a little messy, but fun.  I had already printed out these pre-colored Gemma the Giraffe images in various sizes from Digital Delights by Louby Loo for another project I was doing.  It worked perfect for a Mother's Day Card.  And, of course, the twine is from The Twinery.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner #59 Bling It Up

The challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner for this week is Anything Goes, Bling It Up.  Well, when choosing my image, I didn't look at the theme and chose this cute little bear sitting on the dock fishing from our sponsor, Stamp Fairy.  It is definitely a masculine image.  Masculine and bling in my mind don't mix, so I had to really think on this one for awhile.  I finally decided to use the Bo Bunny camping paper from my stash which is definitely masculine in color.  I added other cardstock to match.  Then took some plain white pearl bling and colored them with my Copics to match the paper.  And voila, a masculine card with bling.  I added a little Stickles to his muzzle and the water to give it a little sparkle.

DS4J Sunday Release 4/21

Great digis in the store today at DigiStamps4Joy.

I chose to use this image by JenLee called "Melissa."  She was a challenge to color with all those gorgeous locks.  It took me a couple tries until I got just what I wanted.  As usual, I colored her with my Copics.  The background lattice work was cut on my Cameo and the loopy edge is from a Martha Stewart punch.  The ribbon is from Michaels.

Outlawz Color Challenge 4-16

Morning Peeps.  It's if it's Tuesday, it must be time for The Outlawz new color challenge.  For my card, I decided to do a step card.  The technique is called "Simple Stepper Card."

Supplies Used:
Image Stamp: Technique Tuesday Poppies - Greenhouse edition
Flowers: Michael's $1 bin
DP: Echo Park
Spellbinders Opulent Ovals
SU tag die
Hero Arts sentiment
MS greenery punch and butterfly
Copic Markers

Challenges Entered: - Butterflies and/or Roses

Just for Fun

I took a break over the weekend from doing DT cards and did a set of cards for OWH.  I found samples and the directions for cutting the paper for these cards online from Airbornewife.  I made 16 cards using just large pieces of scrap for the printed paper.  I made the plaid background with a background stamp from Hero Arts (Large Plaid) and the flower is a La Blanche stamp.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and the bling from Want2Scrap.  I colored the bling with Copics.  The cards are identical except for colors.  I coordinated the mats, stamps and bling for each dp color used.  I used my Cameo to cut the circles.

TSC #58

Today's challenge at Tammys Scrapin Corner is Anything Goes for Spring Has Sprung.  Everyplace I go, I see bouquets of tulips.  So, I chose Tulips from our sponsor for this challenge, Eureka Stamps, for my image.  I colored them with Copics and used Spellbinders A2 Fancy Postage Edge die for the die cuts.  Ribbon and cardstock are from Michaels.  Bling is from Want2Scrap.  It looks like some of the bling has red dots in the middle.  Unfortunately, I had a red shirt on when I took the picture so the bling picked up the color.  All the bling is crystal clear.

Big Mouth

The Sunday release at DigiStamps4Joy includes this adorable hippo stamp.  You can find this and many more new stamps at the store here in today's new releases.  When I first saw the stamp, I was reminded of the time I had a behind the scenes tour at the Los Angeles Zoo, compliments of my daughter who is a keeper there.  I was able to feed the hippos.  I couldn't believe how wide they could open their mouths.  They are so lazy, that they just open their mouths and wait for you to toss the food in.  They were eating apples and lettuce the day I was there.  So, of course, I had to have an apple to feed this guy.  I cut the apple with my Cameo.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added some bling from Want2Stamp.  I deliberately kept the card rather simple because I wanted to highlight the hippo.

Bugaboo Catch the Bug Challenge

I am on a roll with the step cards lately.  Here is another one I created with Bugaboo digi stamp, Flower Water Can - Daffodil Can.  I colored it with Copics, used a Memory box die to cut the grass and flowers.  I made it into a center step card with Core'dinations cardstock.

DS4J Challenge 64 Anything Goes

Morning Peeps.  It's time for the halfway point in challenge #64 at DigiStamps4Joy.  For my image, I chose "Cycling is Fun" from the DigiStamps4Joy shop.  Go on over there after you view my card and see what fantastic images you can have for a very small price.

I chose to do a center step card for this challenge.  Since it is only a couple months until we celebrate Father's Day, I chose start my Father's Day cards now.  Many of us learned to ride a bike with our dads holding onto the seat to protect us.  I thought this would be a nice way to thank him.

The Outlawz 4/2

This week's challenge at the Tuesday Color Challenge at The Outlawz is two different shades of purple and white with embossing as a twist.  I chose to do an easel card and dry embossed the entire base with one of my favorite Cuttlebug folders, African Batik.  I used the Technique Tuesday March Greenhouse stamp called Anenomes.  I colored the flowers with Copics.  The Spellbinders die cuts were cut with the Opulent Ovals set.  I added some bling from Want2Scrap.  I am leaving the sentiment blank as I am not sure yet what I want to use this card for.
