The Outlawz Sketch for 12/25

I hope you are all enjoying the day.
I forgot when I did my card for last week that there was still one more to go for this year at The Outlawz Sketch ChallengeBugbaoo Stamps is the sponsor, but I couldn't find a digi to go with my title. So, I used this digi from DS4J.  This one goes in  my box to wait for next year to be sent out.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

It is so hard to believe that it is Christmas already.  I hope you are all enjoying the holiday.

The sketch for this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is one that I fell in love with when I saw it.  I actually used it for an earlier sketch.  (See Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown for November 20.)  I'll post it here again below.

The sketch:

My card for the challenge:
The card I made for OWH a couple weeks ago.  This one is masculine.

The same sketch, but totally different looks.

DS4J Challenge #82

The challenge for DS4J for this week is being hosted by site owner, Margy, and is an easy one - Anything Goes.  Because everybody is so busy right now, this challenge has been going since December 11th and will run through January 8, 2014.  Join in and have some fun.  Use a DS4J image and give yourself an extra chance to win a prize.  You can find the images here.

I used Cosmos Corsage for my image.  It is one of my favorites and I have used it on multiple occasions.  For this card, I used a 6x6 set that I got in 2012 during the Shop Hop.  I cut it down to size for OWH cards and went from there.  The image is colored with Copics, printed and cut with the Cameo and popped on the card. I added bling from Want2Scrap (also colored with Copics), cut the sentiment banner with a SU die and stamped it with a Hero Arts Stamp.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge 12-18

Only one more week until Christmas.  Where is the time going?  This ishould be my last Christmas card for this year.  Of course, if I decide to enter a challenge, I might have to make just one more.  This is the sketch over at The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for this week.  Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  I chose to use the snowman with a star for my card.

Once more I dug into my scraps and found a piece big enough to make the background for this card.  The red is Recollections cardstock.  I embossed the shape behind the snowman with a snowflake folder.  I colored the snowman with Copics.  The corners were cut with a die and I don't remember who makes it.  I added Glossy Accents to the hat band, nose, heart and star.  I put Stickles on the corners.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for December 11

It's Wednesday, time for the Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz.  The sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  I used this image showing Best Friends.  This card will go to my BFF for all the help she has given me lately.

I thought the sketch would work better if I turned it a quarter turn to the right.  I colored the image with Copic markers after using the print and cut feature on the Cameo to cut it out.   I also cut the shape and the flourish with the Cameo.  The I added the pearls from Want2Scrap.  The dp is Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar Collection.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #33

It's time for the sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  Why not go over there and see the inspiration the DT have made for this challenge.

The sketch:

My card:
I used some really old papers that I have had for a few years.  I'm really trying to use up my stash but it seems like it's a bottomless pit.  I can't quite get to the bottom of it.  For this card, I used a Spellbinders die to back the image.  I cut and printed the image with the Cameo and used Copics to color it.  The image is from Jen Lee over at DigiStamps4Joy online store.  It's called Misteri with Bouquet.  The sentiment is cut with a SU die.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for December 4

This is the sketch over at The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for this week.
Our sponsor for December is Bugaboo Stamps.  I chose to use this monkey throwing snowballs.
For the background, I used a piece of scrap from my scrap bin.  The white is also from my scrap bin.  I punched the two large snowflakes and added a piece of bling colored with Copics.  The ribbon is ancient and I no longer know whose it is.  The two snowflake brads are from Recollections.  I added the sentiment on a piece of cardstock cut with a Spellbinders die.

DigiStamps4Joy Challenge #81

Challenge 81 at DS4J is being presented by our very talented DT member, Berni.  You can see her super work on her blog here.  She chose to use distressing as her theme.  I chose to use The Handyman image from DS4J store and make a birthday card for one of the men in my life.  I colored the image with Copics.  I used the blue jeans paper from Me & My Big Ideas and distressed the edges.  I also matted the image on a piece of adhesive cardstock and distressed the edges of the mat.  The sentiment is punched with a Stampin' Up punch and stamped with one of the sentiments from the Sweet Violets from Flourishes and popped it.  The buttons are Stampin' Up.  Twine is from my stash.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 175

Oh, don't you just love the smells coming from the kitchen while you are baking those Christmas goodies?  The challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown is to use baking materials on your project.  I chose to use a cupcake wrapper as the background for my doilie.  My image is from our sponsor, Robyn's Fetish.

I used a piece of 6x6 Recollections Christmas paper and just cut I down to size, leaving the decorated border.  The doilie is from a Silhouette file.  I colored the image with Copics.  I left the sentiment off and can use this as a thank you after Christmas.

DigiStamps4Joy Sunday Release, December 1

Welcome to DigiStamps4Joy weekly Release Sunday.  The digis in the store are so cute this week.   Hop on over there and have a look.  You can find the store here.  I chose to use Ms. Popup.  My mind is teeming with other designs I can make with this cutie.

She was a joy to color.  Inside the card will say "Happy Birthday".  I colored the stamp with Copics.  She is popped up with foam tape.  The doilies are from a Cameo file cut with American Crafts Winter collection.  I also printed and cut the digi with the Cameo.  The dp is from a 6x6 KaiserCraft Utopia collection.  The pearls are from Want2Scrap and colored with Copics to match the paper.  I printed the saying with the computer and hand cut the banner,

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge 11/27/13

Hi, Peeps.  It's that time again.  The new sketch is up and running at The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  Our sponsor for the month of November is The Paper Shelter.  I love their images because they come with a background paper, both pre-colored and  uncolored images.  For my image this month, I chose to use Magic Bubble Bath.  I used both the pre-colored image and the background.  I reshaped the background to fit a 5.5 x 4.25 size card.  I love using digi images because you can make them whatever size you want.   The ribbon is from my stash.  The butterflies and flowers are from the dollar bin at Michaels.  I printed and cut the image with my Cameo.  I popped it with foam tape.  I also used the Cameo to cut the scalloped circles.

AHSC #31

When I first saw the sketch for this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, my first thought was that it  lends itself to a Christmas card.  Since Christmas is only a month away, I went with my first thought.  I also decided to use non-traditional colors.  The cardstock is from Stampin Up; the dp is Recollections.  I had made a bunch of bows when I first got my Bow it All so I used one here.  The greenery is punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment is stamped with Craft Smart ink.

DS4J Sunday Release for Noveomber 24

Great new digis in the store today at DS4J.  This is only one of them.  After you leave me some love here, go on over and take a look.  This stamp is by Jen Lee and is called Agent Alexia.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the pink layer. then wove American Crafts grosgrain ribbon through the slits.  The pearls are from Want2Scrap.  Flowers are from Michaels.  I colored the image with Copics.

OWH Midweek Throwdown - Masculine Birthday

Since I have most of my scraproom packed up waiting for my new desk/work table to be installed and I have all my DT cards made through December in anticipation of my knee surgery, I thought I would dedicate whatever scrapping time I have to do cards for OWH.  I hope to be able to put a box together after my recovery.

I don't make a lot of masculine cards so this was a real challenge for me.  I thought I would practice on a sketch for an upcoming challenge TBA later.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for November 20

Morning Peeps.  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for The Outlawz Sketch Challenge. If you've been following along this month, you already know that our sponsor for this month is The Paper Shelter.  For this challenge, I used both the Japanese Cute Doll background that came with the image and the pre-colored Japanese Cute Doll image.  I raided my sewing basket for the rick rack.  I used Spellbinders dies to cut the image and its shadow.  The brads came from my stash.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.  I also turned the sketch quarter turn.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #174

Time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  This week our sponsor, My Grafico, provided the design team with the most adorable penguins, along with the large snowflake.  I colored this adorable penguin with Copic markers, added some Ice White Pearl Pen to the pompoms on his hat and Glossy Accents to his beak and feet.  The sentiment is computer generated, cut with a Spellbinder die and distressed with Peacock Feathers distress ink.

Outlawz Sketch 11-13

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge is up and running again.   I am loving the sponsor for this month.  If you have never had any dealings with The Paper Shelter, I'd suggest you hop over and look at their stamps.  They are well worth the $3.00 most of them cost.  You get a lot of bang for your buck.  Once again I used the pre-colored "The Turkey is Done" image and the rest of the scrap piece of Christmas paper from my scrap stash.  I printed the image and then used a Spellbinders die to cut it out and distressed with a bit of distress ink.  I made the bows with ribbons from my stash and added the piece of holly chipboard.

AHSC Challenge #29

Morning Peeps.  It's time for another sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. For this card, I decided to do a white on white.  Somewhere along the way, the pink sneaked in there.  For the top part of the card, I adhered a piece of two-sided Sookwang tape to a piece of cardstock and burnished white Glitter Ritz into it.  I used an embossing folder on the bottom piece and adhered this panel to a card base.  I made the bow with the Bow It All.  The flowers and bling are from my stash.  I added the sentiment from Impression Obsession.

DS4J Sunday Release November 10

It's Sunday and that means it's time to showcase the new digis that are available in the DS4J store.  Hop on over there and see what cuties Margy has in store for you this week.  Then hop on over to the DS4J blog for some inspiration from the fabulous design team.

I'm using Misteri and her BFF for my card this week.  One look at my winter collection of AC Cardstock and I knew my colors would be lilac and blue.  I colored the image with Copics and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  Oh my, I didn't use my Cameo on this one.  Well, that's partly because my scraproom is torn up because I am remodeling it.  Everything is in boxes and of course, I can't find anything.  The snowflakes were from a pack that I bought at Michaels a couple years ago.  I used Liquid Pearls for the dots.  The fur on Misteri's boots and her BFF's jacket are Ice White Pearl Pen.  The Pompons are done with Silver Glitter Pen.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for Nov. 6

The sketch challenge is up and running at The Outlawz.   Our sponsor for this month is The Paper Shelter.  I used the image "The Turkey is Ready" and made a Christmas card.  I used a piece of scrap paper to make the background and ribbon from my stash.  The chipboard holly leaves and berries have also been in my stash for awhile.  I cut the image using a Spellbinders die and then sponged a little Lipstick Red distress ink around the edges.  The greens are cut from scraps with a Martha Stewart punch.

DS4J Challenge 79

Hop on over to DS4J blog today for the current challenge.  Today's challenge is hosted by DT Charlene.  You can use any theme you want, just make sure you have 3 dp and at least 3 layers.  For my card, I used way more than 3 layers as each dp has a solid color layer behind it.  My digi is
Mila Dance Recital by Jen Lee and and can be found at the DS4J online shop.  I used something new that I have never done before on this card too.  I made a three-loop bow.  I have always wanted to do this and was never able until I purchased the Zutter Bow It All a couple weeks ago.  You will see lots more neat bows on my cards now.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #172

Need some tags for those Christmas gifts you have to wrap?  Then head on over to Tuesday Throwdown for some fantastic inspiration.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish.  Check out her great digis here.  For my card, I used Charlie Christmas Bear.  He was fun to color with Copics after I printed and cut him with the Cameo.  I used a piece of double sided cardstock from my Christmas stash of 6x6 sheets to make the tag.  Again, I cut it with the Cameo. I distressed the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.  I cut the shape behind the bear with Spellbinders.  The ribbon and snowflake are from my stash.  I used Sparkly Fluff for the fur on his hat and the pom-pom.  However, after it dried, it turned a weird shade of yellowish-pink.  The picture was taken before it dried and it looks real cute.  I covered it over with Ice White Pearl Pen afterwards to cover up the weird color it turned.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for October 30

Morning Peeps.  If this is Wednesday, it must mean it's time for another sketch challenge at The Outlawz.  Our sponsor for the month of October has been Sandi's Samples.  Even though tomorrow is Halloween, this sketch cried "Christmas" to me.    I used her pointsettia paper and the pointsettia from for my card.

I used Recollections cardstock.  I printed and cut the image with my Silhouette and then colored it with Copics.  The rhinestones were clear crystal so I colored them with a Copic marker .  The ribbon has been in my stash for some time.  The sentiment was from the dollar bin at Michaels a couple years ago.  I took it off the wood, cut between the two words and mounted them on an acrylic block.  I used foam tape to pop both the image and sentiment.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner - The Final Challenge

It's with a lot of sadness that I post this.  Tammy and Marc have decided to take a break from the challenges.  I have really enjoyed  being a member of this design team.  The possibility exists that they will take up the challenges again after a much needed break.  Although this challenge is for Tammy's Team, many of us on Marc's team decided to join in.  The sponsors are Bugaboo and SKDigis.  I chose to use this sentiment image from Bugaboo which I made to use as a sympathy card.

DS4J Sunday Release for October 27

For this challenge, Margy did something a little different.  She e-mailed each of the DT a digi to use.  Even I haven't seen all the other DT creations.  So, you and I both had a treat in store if we hop on over to Digital Stamps 4 Joy to see what my fellow teamies have created and to look in the store.  My digi is called Love Knows Kitty by Jen Lee.

I pulled out my box of kitty paper and embellishments for this one.  I have had it all for so long that I have no idea who makes any of it any more.  The border was from a swap I did about 6 years ago or maybe even longer.  I printed and cut the image with the Cameo and colored it with Copics.  I popped it on the card with foam tape.  I used a Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment and cut it with a Spellbinders die.  I used a little Rusty Hinge distress ink on the sentiment.

DS4J #78

The theme at DigiStamps4Joy this week is "Embossing (Wet or Dry)."  I chose to do only dry.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the pink background and an Anna Griffin folder for the small strip.  The small pieces of cardstock and dp were from my scraps.  I colored Cosmos from DS4J for my image and colored it with Copics.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.  For inspiration, I used a sketch by Susan Liles which was posted on the Verve Stamps website and added a few of my own touches.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for October 23

Sandi's Samples is our sponsor for this week at The Outlawz Sketch Challenge.  I used the digi imaged called "Kathleen."  I colored the image with Copics.  The dp  and solid color cardstock is from Authentique 6x6 Season:Spring pad.  The flowers are a Silhouette file.  The flower center brads are from my stash of brads that I have had forever and no longer know who the maker is.  I used a little Stickles on the flowers.

Tuesday Throwdown #170

This week's theme at Tuesday Throwdown is "Creepy Crawlies".  Our sponsor is Simply B Stamps.
I figured the little men from Mars were enough for creepy crawlies.

I used cardstock from Recollections.  The ribbon and googly eyes are from Michaels.  I colored the image with Copics.  The scalloped circle is from Spellbinders.  The bat is a Silhouette file.  I printed the digi paper for the background from Scrapflair.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner #85

The theme this week at Tammy's Scrapin Corner is "Spooky."  What could be spookier than a two-headed monster?  Probably a lot of things, but I just fell in love with the Double-Headed Monster from our sponsor for this week - SKDigis.

The printed paper is a digi paper from Scrapflair.  I used black Recollections from Michaels.  The twine is from both WRMK and The Twinery.  I printed and cut the image with my Cameo and colored it with Copics.

Friday, October 18, 2013

I decided to try my hand at a card that doesn't have to be for one of my design teams.  I looked at Paper Playful and there were a ton with Halloween as the theme.  A Day for Daisies had this cute spider on a cupcake as a suggestion for their challenge.
I used Recollections for the cardstock.  I cut the web with a file from Silhouette.  I also used the print and cut feature on the Silhouette for the image.  I colored the image with Copics. I cut the Boo on the Silhouette.  I guess I am a Silhouette addict.

Challenged I entered:  Anything Halloween using A Day for Daisies image Halloween Halloween- spooky or cute Anything Goes/Spooky Halloween Non Scary Halloween Halloween or Use Orange
