Tim HOltz Creative Chemistry 101

I decided to sign up for this class after it had already started.  I am really glad I did as Tim's videos are fabulous.  He is very thorough in  his instructions.  I like that I can save the videos and have access to them forever.  I am just now starting to work on the techniques.  I did the first lesson this morning and am really happy with the results.  I cut some file folders to have the manilla tags and black Recollections.   These are the tags created in the Day 2 class.  I really like the Blended Spritz & Flick Technique.  I can hardly wait until I can work on the tags for Day 3's class.

The Outlawz Friday 3/23 Challenge

The challenge was EASTER – BUNNIES – CHOCOLATE.

I made this card in class with Linda Howard at Scrapbooking Made Simple.

I don't know what manufacturer's materials we used, but we colored the bunny, using alcohol markers .  I used Liquid Pearls on the X's.

Three Father's Dayu Cards

I CASE'd the first two cards.  The lighthouse was an extra for the online CardMaker Magazine this month.  The barbeque was from Sierra-enterprises.

I used only kraft paper.  The top layer is just slightly smaller than the card base and the edges distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The ribbon is from American Crafts and the twine from Hemptique.  The stamp is an old one from Stampscapes; the sentiment from my stash and I don't remember who made it.  Although the ribbon scanned greenish, it is really chocolate brown.

The stamps and card design are from Great Impressions; paper from my stash.

Black cardstock is from Recollections, white is GP110, pattern from my stash.  The train is a digi from TLC Creations and the sentiment are from a stamp set I found in Michael's dollar bin last year after Father's Day.  Brads from my stash.

The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch

Today's sketch was almost exactly what I made yesterday.  I had already colored several tigers and had all the other materials ready to make more today.  I tweaked yesterday's card and made it fit this challenge.  I moved the tiger up and the sentiment down.  That gave me enough room to put three pieces of bling which I colored with a Copic marker.  I think I'll finish the rest this way.

OWH Faux Leather Challenge

The first time I tried this technique, I just covered the tape with distress ink and it worked fine.  This time I followed the tutorial and used translucent embossing powder and heat set it over the faux leather panel.  It is a little shinier than I would like, but it will have to do.  I used a combination of Recollections and Bazzill cardstock.  The tiger stamp is from TLC Creations digi stamps.  The sentiment is from Michaels.  I colored the tiger with Copics E15, E19, G82 and G89.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge to cover the faux leather panel.

The Outlawz 3/19

This week's theme: Recipe Challenge!
You should add to your creation:
+ Flowers
+ Patterned paper
+ ribbon

I used yesterday's OWH sketch 113 as inspiration for this card.  I embossed a piece of Scrap Within Reach paper from my stash with a Cuttlebug folder.  The printed paper is from Basic Grey.  Ribbon from American Crafts.  Yellow paper is TPC Studio.  I cut the shapes with Spellbinders.  The flower digi is from an online class that I took (don't remember which one) and colored with Copics.  The sentiment is Hero Arts. After I scanned the picture, I added Glossy Accents to the flower center.

CASE'd Card

I CASE'd this card from Lee Ann Barrett on today's OWH challenge.  I didn't have the same materials she used, but I found similar ones in my stash.  I used the new Sizzix Balloons and Cupcakes Framelits and Stamps set to stamp and cut the balloons; red, blue, yellow and black paper, ribbon and baker's twine from my stash. and a sentiment stamp from The Paper Company.  Istamped the red paper with the star from the Sizzix set.

OWH Sketch 113

Once again, I dug into my scrap and really old paper to create this card.  My mood must be a little black this morning to go along with the rainy weather.  The saying is from TLC Creations.  I used a black card base and framed all the other pieces with white.

Saturday Challenge 3-17

This card is for the Secret Crafter Satturday Challenge - "Doilies Are Not Just For Cakes" site that I found on The Outlawz link button.  I was also checking out another site where I found "faux embossing" as their challenge last week.  Splitcoast Stampers had the techinque on their site.  I used a combination of techniques for this one.  I made the base using the faux embossing technique.  Then I found the Secret Crafter site and decided to do their challenge. For my butterfly, I used Elizabeth Craft Designs peel offs, Glitter Ritz and Be Creative tape.  I colored the butterfly with Copics.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.

Twisted Thursday - The Outlawz 3/15 Things With Wings

Made last night at Scrapbooking Made Simple.  Linda Howard our teacher had us use the new Sizzix Framelits with dies and stamps.  This is the Dragonflies set.  It's hard to tell from the photo, but the dragonfly body and the wings' outline are coated with Pearl Pens.

The Outlawz Color Challenge 3-13/OWH 3/14 Miss You

I have had this image stamp from Hero Arts since 1985.  I used to stamp the inside book cover of books I have read before I gave them away so that they didn't come back to me.  Now it is part of my stamp collection for making cards.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.  All paper is Recollections and the ribbon is from Michaels.  I tried to color the cats like the ones I have/had.  The two grey tabbies and the cream color are my current collection of furrpersons.  The Siamese has been at the Rainbow Bridge for about a year.

Father's Day Card

I know, it's not even Easter yet, but OWH needs cards well in advance of the holiday.  When we went to Scrapbook Expo last month in Anaheim, I found this great masculine paper from The Paper Loft.  It was in 6x6 pads.  I was inspired by Mojo Monday's sketch today.  This does not look like the sketch.  It sort of took on a life of its own as I was putting it together.  Thanks to Sandy Allnock of OWH, I backed each piece with black making it stand out more.  I don't know who makes the stamps.  I didn't use to save the packaging, but now I do.  I colored the ties with Prismacolor pencils.  I think I will paper piece the middle tie the next time I make this card, using one of the printed papers I use on the card.

Mojo Monday 232

Still working on Easter cards.  I used both sides of the Creative Imaginations paper that I have fallen in love with, with a little black from my stash thrown in.  The sentiment is from SU.  Ribbon from Michaels.

The Outlawz CAS for 3/11

For some reason, my scanner did not want to do this in color.  After fiddling with it for several attempts, this is the best I could come up with.  There are actually 3 layers, the white card, lavender and white embossed cardstock by Bazzill.  The stamps are from SU.  Unknown ribbon source. Cut with Spellbinders.

OWH Sketch #112

This was a fun sketch.  I will make more and use them as Any Hero cards in my next box to OWH.

Glitter Ritz and Peel Offs

I decided to try some more cards with Glitter Ritz.  I am still not sure if they are okay for OWH.  I can't get the glitter to rub off so I will send one to Sandy and ask if it is okay.  If I can't, they will be for my own personal use and as gifts for the Newcomers luncheons.

I used Coredinations cardstock for the card base.  Both glitter strips are Be Creative tape on which I burnished Glitter Ritz.  The little heart borders are from my stash from a long time ago.  The big peel off is Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I covered it with Glitter Ritz and then colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is also from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Inspired by Els

I saw this on Els' FB page and wanted to try it.

I used Coredinations Canvas texture cs for my base.   Everything else on the card is from Elizabewth Craft Designd. The left panel is blue iris Shimmer Sheets which I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder then sanded.  The white strip is Be Creative tape on which I put Warm Highlights Glitter Ritz and burnished it.  Next is a strip from one of the silver border Peel Offs by Els which I colored with a Copic marker B04.  The sentiment and flourishes are also Els Peel Off stickers colored with B04 Copic marker.  I have since removed the negative piece from the "o" in "you".  I didn't see it until I had the picture enlarged up on the screen.
