The Outlawz CAS Challenge 2/26

The challenge was to make a CAS card with just a splash of red.

Background paper and stamp are Hero Arts. Red and green cardstock from my scraps.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink - to distress the background and the sentiment strip. I cut the leaves with my Big Shot and a Sizzix die.  Martha Stewart punch and Want2Scrap bling with Atyou Spica black for the veins in the leaves complete this card.

OWH Tuesday Tutorial

This was made from the tutorial posted today on OWH Stars and Stamps blog.  It was originally designed to be a gift card holder.  I didn't want to do a gift card holder so I made it just a card.  I started with a piece of green folded to 4 1/2 x 5.  I embossed the front of the card, then cut it to be the shape of a coffee cup.  The fold is at the top.The brown band is corrugated paper.  You can use a crimper on plain cardstock too.  The white lid is the same dimensions as on the OWH site.  I do not have a lipstick stamp so I couldn't put the lipstick on the lid as was shown in the tutorial.

The Outlawz 2-20 Greeting Card Challenge

The challenge was to make a card using 2 different papers, 2 embellishments and one ribbon.

I used the left over paper from some cards I made for OWH.  It uses both sides of the same sheet of Creative Impressions.  The flower is Petaloo, the brad is from my stash as is the ribbon.  I cut the shapes with Spellbinders and the stamp is from Hero Arts.  I CASE'd a card from Scrapbook Expo on today's Facebook page.

The Outlawz Saturday Challenge 2-18 -- Play Ball

The challenge was to make a card using the Dreaming of Spring theme.  What better spring image than baseball beginning soon.

It was difficult to photograph this card to show the front folded back on itself.  I did the faux leather on the folded half, then created a sentiment on my computer.  I used Sizzix Stars die to cut the stars.  Luka stamp is from La-La Land (http://lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com/p/customer-gallery.html) and colored him with Copics.  I am having a problem getting the things to stick on the faux leather.  It seems like nothing I use wants to stay.  I have tried my adhesives, glue dots, Scor-tape.  Somewhere I will find the right adhesive.

The Outlawz Sketch Challenge 2/15/12

I used a pre-colored digi stamp from Becky's Place.  I just added a littleCopic C3 to the green leaves to make them closer to the green in the dp.  DP is from Creative Imaginations.  The sentiment is The Paper Company,  Unknown ribbon source.  Shapes cut with Spellbinders.

OWH Midweek Throwdown 2/15/12

The challenge was to create a card using blue, green and kraft/green.  As usual, the color looks a little washed out on the screen.  It is much more vivid in real life.

Stripe paper: Scenic Route
Ribbon/string: Unknown origin
Image stamp:  SU
Sentiment Stamp: Hero Arts
Chipboard circle:  unknown

I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils.  I used a sketch from January 2010 Mojo Monday.

The Outlawz CAS 2-12

This is about as clean and simple as I can get.  I punched the center of the front of the card with Martha Stewart's Blooming Hearts All Over the Page Punch.  I lined the inside of the front with red cardstock, then put another piece of white to cover the inside cover. Stamp is Hero Arts and Fired Brick Distress Ink.

Then I made this card using the same materials.  I like it much better.  I substituted it for the first one on The Outlawz.

OWH Sketch #108

Now that the VCMP is over, it's back to regular sketches from OWH.  They post a sketch every Sunday.  I am trying to make sure I do every sketch this year plus go back and do all the sketches so far.

I used just plain colored cardstock from my stash, a scrap piece of Basic Grey dp.  I don't know whose ef the button ef is.  The buttons are from Basic Grey; floss from WRMK.  The stamp is Hero Arts.

I rounded the two outside corners to go along with the round buttons.

OWH VCMP #13

Last, but not least was challenge #13.  The challenge was to  make a card that includes EMBOSSING with either an embossing folder or powder.  I chose to use a Cuttlebug embossing folder, with  Core'Dinations cardstock.  I sanded the embossed piece and added a ribbon from Michaels.  The sentiment is cut from a Spellbinders die, highlighted with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and popped with foam tape.

OWH VCMP #12

This challengewas to create a card with a BOAT OR SHIP image.  I found this one on a digi freebies site online.  Colored with Copics, Spellbinder die cuts.  Sentiment stamp from The Paper Company.  Dark blue and white cardstock are Recollections.  Light blue cardstock is Bazzill.

OWH VCMP #11

This is a color challenge to use GREENS AND A SPLASH OF COLOR.

The cardstock is Bazzill, dp is Recollections.  Stamp is the new La-La Land Balloon Marci digi.  The sentiment is from Michaels.  The brick wall is a digi I got off the internet.  I used Copics to color the images.

OWH VCMP #9 - CUT IT OUT! DIE CUTS & PUNCHES

The challenge is to create a card using die-cuts and/or punches.  It ust so happened that the LSS was having a make 'n take this morning featuring the new Sizzix die - scalloped circles, circles and balloons and cupcakes.  I made this card using those dies.  There is Fairy Dust around the cupcake so I can't send this one to OWH because it flakes off and is sparkly.  When I make more, I'll use Spica pens for that effect.  The ribbon is American Crafts.  I used the stamp that comes with the set on the cupcake liner, but the ink I used didn't show up.  Next time, I'll use black.  Inked the edges of the inner circle with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

OWH VCMP #10

The challenge was to make a card with a vintage theme.  I was inspired by http://honeyhomeschoolhomestead.blogspot.com/2012/02/victorian.html for this vintage card.  I had only looked at the card she made before I put mine together.  After I finished my card, I read  her post on her blog.  I had a good laugh when I read that she had patterned her card after a card she saw on my blog.

I used OWH sketch #19 for this card. I used kraft paper for my card base, a scrap of SU and another scrap from a cat layout I had made some time ago.  I used Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to give it a little vintage look. The solid colored cardstock is from my scrap bin.  The bling is Recollections and the sentiment stamp is from The Paper Company - my favorite sentiment collection.  I found the picture on the web.  It amazes me how many cards I have been able to use by digging into the scrap bin for just that right sized little piece of paper.

OWH VCMP #8

The challenge was to make a card with a  JUNGLE ANIMALS - CARDS FOR KIDS.

I used a Stampendous stamp set that I got on sale at Michaels several months ago and have never used.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils. I used a kraft paper card base and dp that I've had forever and don't know who made it.

OWH VCMP #7

The challenge was to simply create a CAS card.  I used a sample from the CAS Online class that just completed.  It is a gatefold card.  I have never done one before so I figured the time is now.

Materials Used:

Card base:  GP 110 cardstock
Hero Arts background stamp
Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch Swirls Stamp
Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch  Flowers
Katie & Co. sentiment stamp
Stampendous Vintage Mahogany Embossing Tinsel
Hero Arts Purple Shadow Ink
Various scraps for flowers and tags
WRMM floss

The Last of My Mother's Day Cards

I think I am Mother's Dayed out.  These are the last of the cards I plan on making for Mother's Day this year.  I have a box of 26 ready to go out to OWH as soon as I can get to the Post Office.

OWH VCMP #6 Sand and Sea

The challenge for this card: USE BLUES & TANS (any and all shades). Any theme or sentiment is fine so long as you use blues & tans.  My inspiration was the current SU Idea Book.

VCMP #4 Beachy

Stamp:  Just Rite By the Sea
Sentiment: Hero Arts
Printed paper: Echo Park Splash
Cardstock: Recollections
Ribbon: Michaels

OWH VCMP #3

This was the card that Sandy did yesterday on the ship.  She put a tutorial online today.  At first, it was very difficult.  I had to stop and start the video several times. Once I got the hang of it, it became easier.  It was also fun trying somethiing so far out of my box.

OWH Virtual Card Making Party Sketch #2

The challenge was to make a masculine card with a nautical theme.  This stamp is from The Peddler's Pack.  I colored it with Copics.  The sentiment stamp is from The Paper Company.

A CASE'd Mother's Day Card

I CASE'd this card from a card Kathryn posted in the OWH VCMP Challenge #1.  It is not hard, but time consuming because of having to cut out so many border pieces.
