The Outlawz Color Challenge for 1/31/12

Yellow Bazzill for the card base, an old scrap of Creative Memories dark greyfor the background, Recollections light grey cut with a Nestie, La-La Land Marci colored with Copics, flowers and ribbon  from my stash, Pewter Liquid Pearls for the flower centers and a Katie & Co. sentiment.

I am also going to submit this card to La-La Land Crafts for their January challenge. http://lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com/p/customer-gallery.html

The Outlawz Color Challenge 1-24-12

I used peach Bazzill cardstock for the card base and lime green for the background for the flowers.  Part of the Challenge was to use a rose.  I used an Anna Griffin chipboard rose.  Ribbon from a ribbon exchange I did a couple years ago.  Stamp is from Studio 8.

Outlawz Monday Challenge 1/29/12

The challenge was to make a card using hearts.  I wanted to make a card that looked like an envelope using the stamp die from Spellbinders and a glitter heart from my stash.  It didn't turn out like I envisioned it, but it will have to do.  I will cover the heart with Glossy Accents to keep the glitter from flaking off so that I can send the card to OWH.

Paper is Recollections; stamp KaiserCraft.

OWH Sketch 106

For this sketch, I used SU printed paper, a scrap of red from my stash, a JustRite stamp and a Nestabilitie die.  I embossed the red strip.

:Hero Arts, Bo Bunny and OWH

I have had this paper from Bo Bunny for several months and never could decide what to do with it.  Well, my OWH Hero Arts stamps arrived earlier this week and immediately I decided what to make.  I cut the banner with my Spellbinders set and added a couple brads.

Miss You

I've found a new board to follow and post my cards on,  http://craftingbydesigns.ning.com/.  They have a challenge each week.  I posted three challenges this morning.  I have already posted one of the cards here.  These are the other two I have posted for today.  Of course, both cards will find their way to OWH later this week.

This was for the Year in Cards Challenge. I am still using the felt hearts from Michaels. The printed paper is from my Cricut Celebrations collection.  I can make two more cards before the hearts are all gone.  I think a trip to Michaels is in my near future to get some more of these hearts.

The challenge was to follow this sketch:

This was for the Clean and Simple challenge. I had signed up for the CAS Online Class, but so far haven't got around to doing anything with it. This was enough to jump start me.  The paper is also from the Cricut Celebration collection. The stamp if from my favorite sentiment set from The Paper Company.  Ribbon and bling flowers are from Michaels.  This card would also qualify for OWH's challenge to use bling, but no glitter.  This is also for the CAS012912 Outlawz challenge.

OWH Midweek Throwdown

The challenge was to make a card for OWH using bling.  I first colored the heart on this digi stamp from Meljens Designs with red Copic marker.  Then I decided to replace it with a bling heart.  I only had clear crystal hearts, so I colored the heart with R29.  The image is colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts monthly set for April.

Spring

I found the digi online over a year ago before I realized I should acknowledge the maker when I use it.  I cut the border from a Nestabilitie..  The sentiment is from SU.  This is on its way to OWH.

Missing You

I found this Hampton Art stamp on sale at Michaels.  It called my name so of course I had to buy it.  I colored it with Copics.  I have made this for OWH.

OWH Sketches

Sandy suggested that we try to use all the sketches in 2012.  I though I would see how many I can do.  I'm off to a good start.  I have already posted 102, 103 and 105.

Here are a couple I made yesterday and today.

This one is Sketch #1.  I cut the paper for the card base and then embossed only half of it with a Cuttlebug folder.  I lined the inside with white cardstock because it would be difficult to write on the side that is embossed. Then I rounded the two outside edges with my Corner Chomper.  I cut the background for the bunny with a Nestie.  I used chalk ink to distress the die cut. The image is from a digi stamp I found online and forgot to identify the maker.  It was already colored.  I just used a Atyou Spica clear pen on the pink on the bottom of his feet, his ears and nose.  The sentiment stamp is from the $1 bin at Michael's and the floral paper is from my stash.

This is Sketch #26.  Another Easter card that will find its way to OWH soon.  Again, I didn't note the maker of the digi stamp.  It was already colored making it a lot easier to create a card.  The  patterned paper is BG Blush collection.  The sentiment stamp if from the month sets from Hero Arts.

Penny Black Stickers

A couple weeks ago, Scrapbooking Made Simple, had a make and take using Penny Black stickers.  I fell in love with the stickers and have spent the last 3 days making cards using them.  From six sheets of stickers, I made 27 cards.  Some I used samples from the store, others I just put together.  These are just a few.  All of these cards and the other 17 are on their way to OWH for our heros to send home.

Thoughts of Spring

Looking ahead to what to do next for OWH, I decided to do some spring cards.  This is the first one.  I have lots of spring stamps so I think I will try to do a couple more over the next week or so, so that they will be timely to OWH.

I used a folder I borrowed from a friend, dabbed some Distress Ink on the raised portions, a ribbon from my stash and a stamp that I don't remember where it is from.

Easter Cards for OWH

Over the weekend, I played with making cards for Easter for OWH.  These are the three that I finally settled on.  The chickie is a stamped image that a friend gave me over a year ago.  Finally got around to coloring it.  I had about 10 of them so I used different media on them.  This one is with Copics. I used the Spellbinders Picot Edge Circle and the Standard Circles.  The "pearls" are Liquid Pearls.Sentiment was from the dollar bin at Michaels.

The the second card, I used a Mouse House stamp and colored it with Copics.  The paper is from my stash as is the ribbon.  The same sentiment was used.

For the last card, I decided to do one for the reason for Easter.  The cross is from a set from Inkadinkadoo. I colored it with Copics.  The paper is from my stash and I have no idea who the maker is.

One Sketch, Two Cards

OWH Sketch 103 is perfect5 for Valentine's Day.  I made two cards using the same materials and sketch.  For the first card, I used the sketch as is.  For the second card, I turned the sketch 90 degrees and used a different placement for the sentiment.

I used Sizzix embossing folders, paper from my stash of remnants and  hearts from a pack of felt hearts I got at Michaels.

Today I was playing with a card from Els using Shimmer Sheets and Glitter Ritz.  This was what I came up with.  I had some Shimmer Sheets and Glitter Ritz in my stash so I decided to try it.  This is the result.

For this card I used:
Blue shimmer sheet
Be Creative tape
El's Peel Off Stickers
Warm Highlight Glitter Ritz
Copic Markers Y11, Y13, G21, G24
Ribbon from Michaels
Stampin' Up Whisper White for the card base
Stampin' Up ticket punch

Two Ideas for One Stamp Set

I used Sizzix/Hero Arts Textured Impressions for these cards.  The first one is stamped on pink paper with Mememto ink, then embossed with the folder that was in the set..  A little sanding  and the images popped.  I added a white sheer white ribbon.

For this card, I stamped it on white, colored the images with Copics and embossed it.  I used the Copics to color the ribbon and added Glossy Accents to the butterfly.  One stamp/embossing folder set, two totally different looks.

Valentine Marci

This card is for La La Land Inspiration Monday challenge using pink, black and white.  I used Cupid Marci. I colored her with Copics and mounted her with pop dots.  The pink background is cut with Lovely Floral on my Cricut.  I use Design Studio to get the die cut the size I want.   Sentiment stamp is from my favorite set from The Paper Company.  I finished it off with some pink bling from my stash.

Congratulations

My grandson called me last night to tell me he and his girlfriend got engaged yesterday,  This card is for them.  The paper is Basic Grey Blitzen collection.  The flower is from my stash.  I found the sentiment online, but don't remember where.

Another New Year Card

Same paper, same image, but I like this one much better.

OWH Sketch #102

I needed a Happy New Year for those who sent me cards but I hadn't sent them cards.  This quick and easy sketch was just what the doctor ordered.  The stamp is by MelonHeadz.
